Kimberly Apuzzo

Kimberly Apuzzo graduated from The Ohio State University in 2020, where she was a member of the Women’s Lacrosse team. Apuzzo is a four-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete, two-time Academic All-Big Ten and a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar in 2019. 

She was a four-year starter for Blue Valley and a two-year captain, team MVP.  Apuzzo’s illustrious career earned her two US Lacrosse All-American honors and three all-Eastern Kansas League first team selections.  

On top of her work with the Warriors she is the Head Coach of Blue Valley High School's Women's Lacrosse Team. 


Clare Hanson

Clare Hanson was hired as the Benedictine College Women’s Lacrosse Assistant coach in the fall of 2021, after working as graduate assistant for the program.

Hanson was a member of the inaugural Benedictine College varsity team. She helped guide the program to three conference regular-season titles as well as two conference tournament championships, resulting in automatic bids to the National Invitational Tournament.

Individually, Hanson is a First-Team All-Conference Midfielder and two time Daktronics Scholar Athlete. She was elected captain in her junior and senior seasons helping build the foundation for the women’s lacrosse program. Hanson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and Social Science from Benedictine College in 2018.

She began her coaching career in the Kansas City area, after graduating. Hanson taught sixth grade and coached high school lacrosse at St. James Academy before returning to Benedictine College to coach. Hanson a native of Hoyt, Kansas and resides in Atchison.

Maddi SCHEIPETERSCHEIPETER

Scott Gilman

Gilman is the Head Coach for the Saint James Academy (SJA) lacrosse team. He helped launch the program three years ago. Gilman grew the team from a JV only program to a Varsity and JV program that has improved their record every season. The team will be extremely competitive in the KCMGLA this spring. SJA is returning four All-Metro players. SJA has 5 seniors from the original team that are committed to play in college.

Gilman also helped launch the West Side Wild youth program that won its division in the 7/8th grade KCMGLA lacrosse league in their first season. The team is adding a 3/4th and 5/6th grade programs this year.

Prior to lacrosse, Gilman coached both boys and girls high school basketball winning a city championship with his boys’ program. Gilman has also coached youth, high school, and college football.
